I’ve been on many guided fishing trips (all rod n reel), and this flounder gigging was by far better than any of them. Captain David was really cool and was able to get us a great haul of flounder, drum, and sheepshead. We all limited out on flounder and then went on to target other species. This captain worked his butt off making sure we had a great experience and we really did. Worth every penny! I cannot wait to do it again!
We have been on multiple trips with Captain David, as well as other flounder Captains in the area. David is, hands down, the absolute best. We have had full limits on every single trip, and our clients that we send with him are always very happy. The few trips I've been lucky enough to go on were great; David is a patient, polite and funny guy who knows how to give his clients a great experience. He is also hell on flounder. You'll never meet someone that can spot a big flatfish buried under the sand in 2 feet of water on a windy night, except for Captain David. Highly recommended.
First time using Captain David, he was recommended from another fishing guide we use every summer. Our group had 6 people which included my 14 year old daughter and we all had a great time. It was all of ours first time to try gigging and thankfully Captain David had LOTS of patients . He must speak Flounder because even though it was slow at first and we didn't get all of them in the boat we still hit our limit. Highly recommend Surrender at Sunrise for any gigging trips in your future!!!! Thanks again Captain David and hope to be a repeat customer next summer!!!
Best Flounder Guide On the Coast! Have been with Capt Dave multiple times and always had a nice limit of flounder. He is a great teacher and willing to share his knowledge with others. If you are considering a flounder trip, this is the guide to use.
Thanks Cpt Dave - for a great time! Had never been gigging for flounder before, but after our trip last night will certainly try it again. Met Cpt Dave at the dock a little before 8 pm and we were gigging by 8:15. He was very patient with us, taught us the technics, and helped us spot the first flounder within a few minutes of starting. A few hours later we had our limit. We got back to the dock where Cpt Dave expertly filleted the fish quickly and what seemed effortlessly. All in all a very fun time led by a real professional. Highly recommend it!
Capt. Dave was top notch all the way around. I went out with my dad who was visiting from out of state and my father in law. The conditions were pretty bad and the wind made it real hard to see, but Dave was patient and helped us get our limit by 2:00. He knows the water ways and where to find fish and really doesn’t give up. I would highly recommend him for your next flounder gigging trip.
Hands down best guide. David is a great guy that wants only the best for his customers and it shows in his results. I have been on 4 trips with him just this summer and will do more befoe season ends. We have had 2 hour limits and 6 hour limits, either way it is fun to be on his boat.
It was SO MUCH FUN and we limited out on our fish by 1:30 am. With 5 of us, that's 25 fish. Capt Dave knows his areas and got us on lots of fish. 25 flounder, 6 sheepshead and 2 black drum. We will make this an annual family tradition!
